ATTIYA NORDIN MISSES HOME~ :'(

Hey :)

It has been a while since my previous post, sorry about that. Ever since the school start after the yellow week (when all the art students are off on a holiday just to visit museums all over UK) we were given a heck load of assignments and essays to do. It was a hectic week last week and will probably continue until after christmas sighh and my sleep is lacking at the moment

I knew this was coming though, the stress, the ****load of work, the assignments, presentations, i knew what i was getting myself into, but i don't know if i am even prepared for all those yet~ It is still the first couple of months since i've been in school and I already have so much to do and so little time left..

Oh well~ now that im here, i cant complain, since everybody here is also stressing and working their asses off before the december holidays haha..

Off to burying myself into the pile of work now~
bye
:)

Capturing still-life in warwick :)

I have this assignment to do based on still life. I have to take a number of pictures of landscapes, objects or people and draw them. So these are the pictures that I took in warwick, the sceneries are so breath taking in real life but i guess pictures will do just fine :)

Geese! :D I love to watch them walk haha..

He ruined my picture~

So those are the pictures that I decided to draw, I'm supposed to take more pictures cos that's not a lot but i guess that will have to do for now, it's due next week haha need to do them ASAP!

:)

Visiting the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery :)

We had a trip to the museum (hence the title above) a couple of weeks ago, I was kinda excited cos i've never been to and art museum before, well I have been living in Brunei all my life haha what do you expect? There's nothing there~

This trip was part of the course, so it was compulsory, kind of~
The museum is located around the city centre and it's really huge! I love how they design the building, so fine and detailed, not modern at all.

Unfortunately, when i got there, i was feeling kind of sick, i felt homesick i guess haha. So, i wasn't really listening to my tutor about the paintings, how and why they made them and all that. I really just wanted to go to bed at that time haha. But , i've only been in birmingham for 2 weeks at that time so the trip was a good experience. Apart from being sick, I enjoyed it :)

Pictures! :D

This is the museum, isn't it pretty? =D

This statue is located in front of the museum, there's supposed to be a story behind it which i kind of forgot. I know what you're all thinking, "omg! she's naked!" or "why is she naked?!" again, that's art~

My course mates, they're so into the painting haha.

I'm not really sure what this is, my tutor didn't tell us the story behind, we just passed by it. But it caught my though, i love the colours!

Unfortunately, we passed by this one too~ so again, i don't know the story behind this one either sighs~

That's about it
Till next time

:)

Welcome to my blog!

Hello there :)

The people who already knew me might know that I don't usually blog about anything, so as you can see, this is my first blog! I'm still an amateur on this so please bear with me :)

The purpose of this is mostly for my school assignments, to post up drawings, paintings, sketches that i made and to promote myself, or just to show people what i love to do.

Just an early warning and to be clear to all of you, i didn't make this blog to bitch about people or gossiping which most blogs are about these days. So to those of you who are into that s*** then you may leave this blog cause theres nothing here about that. But to those of you who are into art, then you are most welcome :)

Here are some of the images that i drew not so long ago :)

ASLAN! haha

I did this last year as one of my experiments on oil painting, which i found quite challenging as this was my first in using oil. The style, the texture, the smell were all new to me. At first, oil was not one of my strongest points but after practicing the media over and over again, i'm starting to enjoy it. All in all, i think my image above, is not so bad at all (i think) :)

A griffon~

This is a watercolor painting that i did a few months back for my school work. Watercolor is not as complicated as oil or acrylic and i'm so used to this media already so i did this image with flying colors haha.

Go green!

I did this painting a couple of years back as one of my final exams using acrylic, it didn't take me a lot of time to do it as i'm so used to acrylic already and i really enjoy using it. Its totally different from oil, it dries much quicker, the smell isn't that strong and it is not as messy haha.

Kiss from a rose?

Of all the paintings that i have, this is my favourite. I did this over the summer just for the sake of it. I was inspired by one of my favourite artists when i did this, Georgia O'keeffe. I used acrylic as you may well know.

My first ever painting :)

This painting is quite abstract, especially the different colors, the boldness and the simplicity of it. It might seem as if i didn't put a lot effort into it but hey, thats abstract~ ;)

That's probably about it
For now

:)
